New video: Damon braces progress

Here’s my latest progress wearing the Damon System Clear braces. I notice that the teeth are higher into the gums, they seem wider and I have a huge space between my two bottom teeth! The last detail is only temporary, though.

I felt a small amount of discomfort after this wire change, but nothing unbearable, and it only lasted for one day. Overall, the system has been amazing.

I’ve been busy making a homemade item….you’ll have to watch the video to find out what it is. Ooh the suspense must be killing you.

As always, thanks for tuning in!

Love your videos… My daughter has the Damon System braces right now..she should be getting them off in Sept. (has had them on for about 1 year right now) Then in Oct we will be hopefully getting my two sons in the same. One will have them about 1 year and the other about 2 years.

Then I am thinking maybe my husband and I both need to get them….;) I had “regular” braces when I was a teen, but it did not correct my bite…(I can not touch my front teeth together at all….no matter what I do! and my teeth have shifted some too….so who knows… My husband could definitely use them also, but he is not sure, says he is too old to get braces…(he is 51) but he is not really protesting too much…and we still have to get the boys done and paid and then we will see!

      Hi Alicia,
Tell the hubby that I was 46 (now 47) when I got my braces! Never too late. It’s just a big expense and a big time investment. Trust me, I’d rather not be doing this, however, I think I’ll be happier with a better bite and wider smile. Amazing how many of us have teeth placement issues. I really believe it’s nutritional. Absolutely.
Just brought my youngest daughter to get eye glasses: that’s another nutritional issue, but don’t get me started!

    Hi Nancy,

Can the damon system effectively expand the palate in a child without the use of an expander?

    • nourishingnancy

Hi Erica! The answer is, yes it can! And it’s doing just that for both myself and my, soon to have her Damon braces on in August, daughter! She and I both have extremely narrow palates and neither needed a seperate palate expander before using the Damon system. If you check out my new video, you’ll notice that my teeth have a huge space between my middle bottom teeth. There is no space in between my teeth to move them apart like that, it’s the palate expansion possible with this new system. I’m lovin it!
I’m hearing a lot about homeoblocks, but don’t know much about them. My orthodontist is pretty hyped up about Damon, so I doubt he’s speak kindly about that, however, if you child only needs expansion, you might want to go that route. Best to seek professional help on that one though. I’m certainly no orthodontist.
Thanks for you comments and keep in touch!

    Hi Nancy,

Do you need the rubber bands to allign the bite for the upper and your teeth, or does the Damon System by itself do that?

      Hi Erica,
No, Damon does the whole thing by itself… far. I’m thinking that, towards the later part of the session, there may be some bands due to the fact that there are a few hooks in the back. Not really looking forward to that, if it is on the agenda, but I’m in it for the long haul. It’s been about 8 months now, and my next appointment/adjustment is in a few days. It sounds like a good question to ask. Thanks, Erica.
