Thank you to so many of you who have offered advice and, even, empathy over this issue with my daughter. My 15 year old daughter had a sudden attack of eczema about a month ago that caused me to question our diet. We had been eating a very nutrient dense diet, however, sometimes the gut needs some extra help before it can appreciate the little lovelies you’re sending down there. It just so happens that Kelly at Kelly the Kitchen Kop went low-carb/grain-free for the Real Food Wednesday, and like a mirror image, my daughter and I started our GAPS diet today! GAPS diet, for those new to it, stands for Gut and Psychology Syndrome, which deals with issues of everything from Autism and A.D.D. to depression and common ailments (eczema, constipation, foggy brain, diarrhea), by healing the gut lining in the digestive system.
